Expo 2008/Expo Computer

• Where is the Expo computer?

I think Mark has supplied the box in the past- is it at his place? We have been long-term-lent two ruggedized tablet PCs- there is little reason to carry both of these up to top camp. One option would be to just plug the monitor, keyboard, etc into the second tablet pc.

• Can we have standard Ubuntu on it this year? From what I saw last year the restrictions on sudoers caused mainly inconvenience - is there a reason for this? Ollie s

• I have a reliable Ubuntu machine that can be borrowed, needs a bigger hard drive but I could sort that. P4/2GbRam It's a desktop so only space for one aditional hard drive. USB though. Would be able to bring it to the rescue/dinner weekend where it could be taken to Cambs and have all required software installed/updated/tested etc.

Scanner

If I remember correctly, the scanner doesn't work well- we were having to capture surveys with digital cameras which is not ideal. I can't remember if it was just slow or actually didn't work. Do we want to get a new scanner?

Printer

There is a printer at base camp. Hopefully it has sufficient ink?
